Science is Fun!This week we did a lot with science and the scientific process. We did an experiment with how many water drops can a coin hold. We also started an experiment with fruit and soil to begin watching the effects that microorganisms have in our environment. As you may be able to see even after only two days the peach began to grow some mold. Remarkable BehaviorThis week we have had some really good behavior in our class. I want to highlight to students though who went above and beyond. They both clipped off the chart and got to have their names on my lanyard. So congratulations to Melanie and Abishek. This week was also eventful with an assembly and rotations around to school to help all the students learn about the school rules and how to behave. Hopefully they learned a lot and better behavior will be seen by all and more will be able to clip off the chart.

The first week of school is over and I have loved learning about my students. We have done many activities and gotten to learn about each other. One activity we did was Cultural Suitcases. We all have a culture that we keep and it includes all our traditions, languages, places we come from, beliefs, etc. We bring all of these in a suitcase to combine in our classroom to then create our classroom culture. Cultural SuitcasesAnother activity we completed was learning to be scientists. We learned that a scientist should observe details, write and draw about what they see. We practiced this with different items from the beach. After we read the book The Important Book and then wrote a poem about our science object in the same format. Science Important PoemsSummer is over, Fall is here.
